About
The Feral Scribe weds my two true loves – traveling and writing. Here you will find a chronicle of my excursions around America, interviews with the people I meet, pictures of the places I happen upon and my musings on the things in between. Guided by a savage curiosity, an ear for the story and an insatiable wanderlust, The Feral Scribe aims to explore the fringe, obscure and curious aspects of life in America. I hope my adventures are sufficiently interesting enough to keep you coming back. Welcome! And enjoy.

Bio
Born and raised in Madison, WI, I moved in 2008 to Philadelphia, where my life and career came to a grinding halt. What followed was a prolonged period of profound tedium. After contemplating my next move it occurred to me that I had basically two choices: wander with a purpose or wither from the predictability. It was an easy decision. Today I am on the road, somewhere. Discovering. Seeing. Living. Experiencing. Where ever that somewhere is, I won’t be there for long.

Special Thanks To
Jonah West for his superior web-building skills and patience with all of my nitpicking; Brent Bollenbach, an amazing, gifted artist, for designing The Feral Scribe logo; Mary and Paul Robbins, for taking such great care over the years with the van they would eventually sell me; my father, Don, and my uncle, Greg, for their sustained interest and support; Jocelyn Rush for being the world’s greatest boss; and Erika, my muse.
